ABOUT US
At Ripple Foundation we believe that creativity, education and imagination are key components to success. Our dedication to fostering these components in the lives of youth across Canada has been at the heart of our foundation since its inception in 2015. As a not-for-profit organization, run entirely by volunteers, our mandate is to fund, develop and facilitate initiatives that raise awareness and promote creativity and education in youth across the country.
SUPPORTING LITERACY IN OUR COMMUNITIES
More than 40% of Canadians aged 16-65 have low literacy skills[1]. It is our belief at Ripple Foundation that developing community literacy programs that target children and youth can have a dramatic effect on their literacy as adults. In 2012, Ripple Digital Publishing started Kids Write 4 Kids as a not-for-profit initiative to encourage kids to be creative, read and write. In 2015, Ripple Foundation assumed Kids Write 4 Kids as their signature creative writing program. Kids Write 4 Kids, has worked with number of school boards across Canada to encourage children to tap into their creative writing skills. Many teachers have even incorporated the Kids Write 4 Kids contest into their curriculum to allow students to submit school writing assignments. To further support literacy in our communities, Ripple Foundation has committed to donating all proceeds from the winning authors book sales to their individual schools in hopes that the money will go into developing or supporting literacy programs.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Simply put, because fostering creativity matters. As adults we are often conditioned to hinder our creativity and imagination but many of today`s innovations and inventions are a result of an individual daring to imagine, dream and be creative. Ripple Foundation aims to support and develop programs that teach youth the benefits of creativity and education in their current and future lives. Whether this creativity results in the creation of further literary works or the engineering of a new digital product we are devoted to assisting youth in valuing their creative thoughts and enhancing them through education.
